The hunt for late TDP leader Paritala Ravi's son Sriram is taking the police all over Ananthapur district. Sriram, who is allegedly on the run, has been implicated in an "attempt to murder" case against Congress leader Kamireddy Sudhakar Reddy, and a FIR was filed against the former 2 days ago.
Sriram's mother Paritala Sunita's home in Aravindnagar was searched earlier today, and further investigations are on in the Paritala hometown of Venkatapuram.
It all started five days back, when 13 armed men were apprehended by the police near Dharmavaram, allegedly on the way to murder Sudhakar Reddy. Three men - Vadde Nagaraju, M Sreenivasulu, and Vadde Ramakrishna - were caught, while the rest are absconding.
According to the police, the arrested men alleged that their operation was funded by Sriram, who apparently provided around Rs. 10 lakhs in terms of money, and the weapons required, to the mercenaries.
While the pernicious faction-based politics of Ralayaseema are no secret, Sudhakar Reddy claims to be clueless as to why the Paritala family would target him, as he apparently has no quarrel with them.
The mother of the accused, Paritala Sunitha, also claims that her son is innocent and is being targeted for political reasons. She also requested police protection.
It may be metioned that this is the second foiled murder attempt against Sudhakar Reddy in as many years.
