Plot To Kill HCU VC Uncovered; Two Arrested

The East Godavari police have uncovered a conspiracy to kill Hyderabad Central University Vice-Chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile.

According to East Godavari district SP Vishal Gunny, the conspiracy was hatched to liquidate Podile to avenge Vemula Rohith's suicide.

The police nabbed two youths - Chandan Mishra and Pruthviraj - while checking vehicles on the Bhadrachalam-Charla road, at the Bhadrachalam border.

During interrogation, the youths admitted that they had chalked out a plan with Maoist leader Haribushan to kill Podile.

The SP said that Chandan Mishra from West Bengal was pursuing MA in HCU and was a friend of Pruthviraj from Kesarapally village of Krishna district.
