"People Won't Accept Rayala Telangana"

Shankar Rao says that the people of the Telangana region would not accept a Rayala Telangana.

Former minister Dr. P Shankar Rao on Tuesday said that the people of the Telangana region would not accept a Rayala Telangana.

Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Shankar Rao said that the Rayala Telangana proposal is not practical, and that it is being mooted to slow down the process of Telangana formation.

He said that the people of Telangana would not accept anything less or more than a state with 10 districts with Hyderabad as its capital.

He said that the Centre should implement the Congress Working Committee's resolution in letter and spirit.

Shankar Rao said that a Rayala Telangana would not be beneficial to people although the political leaders promoting it might gain from it.

He also thanked Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar for assuring to install a statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar in the Assembly premises within a month. (INN)
