PD Act Advisory Panel Rejects Petition Of MLA Raja Singh's Wife

The PD Act Advisory Board appointed by the State government has rejected BJP MLA T Raja Singh's wife's appeal to set aside his detention under the PD Act.
Hyderabad | 26th October 2022
The PD Act Advisory Board appointed by the State government has rejected the representation of the wife of BJP MLA T Raja Singh urging it to set aside his detention under the PD Act.

The MLA's wife Usha Bai had filed her petition before the committee on September 29.

In its orders, the committee observed that there were no valid grounds offered or reasons made out by the petitioner to set aside and revoke the detention orders issued by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand on August 25, 2022.

Responding to the orders of the committee, the counsel for Raja Singh K Karuna Sagar said that the rejection order was not a final order or a blow to their efforts to obtain the release of Singh, and that he would challenge it before the High Court of Telangana.

He also said that he expected a positive order from the HC.

Singh is currently lodged in the Charlapally central prison under the PD Act.
