Pawan Kalyan Not Evincing Interest Now: JP
Lok Satta Party founder Jayaprakash Narayan said the actor-turned-politician was not showing any interest in the issue of Central support for AP any more.
Finding fault with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, Lok Satta Party founder chief Jayaprakash Narayan said that the actor-turned-politician was not showing any interest in the issue of Central support for Andhra Pradesh, unlike he had done earlier when he had floated the Joint Fact Finding Committee (JFC).
Narayan convened a meeting with experts like retired IAS officer Kaki Madhava Rao, retired IPS officer Anjaneya Reddy and other intellectuals. The meeting discussed the assurances given to Andhra Pradesh during the bifurcation of the state, and how far the Indian government had fulfilled the assurances. It also discussed the two options of Special Status and special package, and their relative benefits.
Speaking to the media later, JP said, "There was no action after the JFC worked on the figures. Pawan is not showing any interest in the JFC's activities. Hence we floated a new experts' committee with eminent persons having no links with any party. Floating the JFC was the first step and appointing an experts committee was the second," he said.
"We are ready to meet the Centre if given time. I am the person that brought the special category status issue onto the radar," he said.
