Congress MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy on Wednesday opposed the methodology being adopted to bifurcate Rajya Sabha seats between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, Palvai said that the MPs could not be allocated to Andhra Pradesh or Telangana by a draw of lots.
He said that a legislation should be passed in the Rajya Sabha, or specific guidelines should be framed to bifurcate the Rajya Sabha seats.
He said that the present system of division would cause injustice to the Telangana region.
The bifurcation of Rajya Sabha seats between the two States could not be concluded on Wednesday following opposition by the MPs from both the regions.
The division was postponed to May 30. (INN)
