P V Ranga Rao, former minister and eldest son of late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, passed away in Hyderabad on Thursday, due to a heart-related ailment. He was 73, and was a bachelor.
According to family sources, Ranga Rao visited a hospital on Wednesday evening for a medical check-up and returned. However, he developed some complications, and passed away in the wee hours of Thursday.
Ranga Rao was the eldest among Narasimha Rao's 3 sons and 5 daughters. He was a minister in Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy's cabinet, and held the portfolio of Education, in the 1990s.
He represented Hanamkonda Assembly segment of Warangal district twice, and then he was a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. (INN)
