Apparently he's at it again. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has alleged that MIM floor leader in the Telangana Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi was making "hate-filled, filthy and mean" speeches against Congress leaders, as also provocative remarks against other communities to create communal tensions, as part of his campaigning for the GHMC elections.
TPCC official spokesperson G Niranjan lodged a complaint with the Telangana State Election Commission's V Nagi Reddy on Sunday in this regard, along with video clippings of Owaisi's speeches.
He alleged that Owaisi was making damaging remarks against other communities in Hafeez Baba Nagar and other places to create communal tensions, and sought his immediate arrest, and disqualification of the MIM from contesting the GHMC elections.
Niranjan alleged in his complaint that Owaisi's speeches were intended to damage the image of national leaders like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi and AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh.
He alleged that Owaisi used "the most filthy and unparliamentary" language, and made vicious comments against national leaders.
"Akbaruddin used foul language to injure the sentiments of the other communities. Referring to four marriages in Muslims, Akbaruddin said that Muslims had the capacity to manage four wives, but other communities' people lacked that power and could not satisfy even one wife," Niranjan mentioned in his complaint.
The Congress leader told the Election Commission that its observers, the GHMC election authorities and the police personnel at the locations were silent without taking any action though Owaisi was speaking for more than an hour every day on the same lines in his election campaigning.
