Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday claimed that only his party could develop the Telangana State.
Addressing public meetings at different places in Telangana, Naidu listed out the steps which the TDP government took for the development of Telangana region, especially Hyderabad.
He asked AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to explain what they did for development in the Telangana region in the last 10 years.
During his speech at Bodhan of Nizamabad district, Naidu promised 9 hours of uninterrupted power supply for the agriculture sector.
Naidu also accused the Congress Government of mishandling the energy sector. He said that during the TDP regime, Andhra Pradesh was a power surplus State. However, power cuts had become the order of the day during the Congress rule.
He also accused the Congress government of copying the TDP's manifesto, and said that he was the first leader to announce waiver of farm loans if voted to power.
Addressing another meeting at Jagitial in Karimnagar district, Naidu said that the TDP government had spent Rs. 1,400 crores for modernisation of the SRSP project, and took all measures to protect the interests of Telangana farmers in the Babli project issue.
He also announced that Jagitial would be made a separate district if the TDP was voted to power.
The TDP president shared the dais with cine star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan in a meeting at Kondukuru of Ranga Reddy district. He exhorted the youth to play an active role in the development of Telangana. He said that only TDP could ensure overall development of the Telangana region. (INN)
