One more person in Hyderabad has been affected by coronavirus.
The patient, a software engineer, recently returned from Dubai, and went to the Gandhi Hospital with symptoms of the virus, and tested positive.
According to the virology lab of Gandhi Hospital, the patient's sample will be sent to the National Virology Institute in Pune to double-check things. If the test in Pune proves negative the patient will be discharged immediately. However as of now the patient needs his health monitored for another two to three weeks, doctors said.
Meanwhile another 11 people with coronavirus symptoms went to Gandhi Hospital today. Their samples were collected and sent to Pune. Also, 3,517 people were screened at the Shamshabad airport in a single day today. Health Minister Etala Rajender also inspected the airport. Of the 51 persons suspected of infections, 40 are under review at their homes.
The state government has asked the Centre to set up two more labs in the state for coronavirus testing.
