Another person has tested positive for coronavirus in Hyderabad, taking the total number of cases to three in the city and the state.
According to the information received, the patient has been admitted to Gandhi Hospital and is being treated in an isolated ward. The hospital doctors are monitoring the patient after giving the necessary treatment.
For the uninitiated, one of the the three patients, the first, was discharged from the same hospital after the doctors declared him free of the virus, making the current number of active coronavirus cases in the state, two.
The state government yesterday announced a partial shutdown in the city as part of precautionary measures to check the spread of COVID-19 in the state. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced a cabinet decision to close down educational institutions and cinemas among others till March 31.
The total number of coronavirus cases has been put at 107 across the country as of now, with 4 having recovered. Nearly 160,000 persons in 152 countries have been affected and over 6,000 people have died of the virus, with China accounting for most of the infections (80,000+) and deaths (3,000+).
