With reports of the dreaded swine flu making a comeback in the state, the staff at the
Osmania General Hospital were vaccinated and given masks, on Thursday.
Resident Medical Officer Fatima said that the vaccine dosage was given as a precautionary measure since the staff at the hospital was at a constant risk of exposure to the air-borne disease.
The RMO has advised people to immediately consult doctors if they suffer from fever for more than 3 days, and get themselves checked for the dreaded virus.
The onset of monsoon has had increased fears of the disease spreading rapidly in the state, with the government launching a massive preventative campaign.
The Health Secretary had, on June 26,
confirmed the deaths of 4 persons, and another 23 persons being affected by the disease in the state.
