The CBI Special Court on Friday adjourned the hearing to November 16 on the bail petition of mining baron and former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy in the Obulapuram Mining Company illegal iron ore mining case.
When the bail petition, moved on November 2, came up for hearing on Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation sought time to file its counter. Following CBI's request, the special court adjourned the next hearing on the case to November 16. This is the sixth bail petition moved by Janardhan Reddy in the OMC case. While the court rejected four petitions, suspended judge T Pattabhirama Rao accepted one by allegedly accepting bribe. After the cash-for-bail scam was exposed, the bail was set aside by the High Court.
It may be mentioned that Gali was granted bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court on October 31 in the cash-for-bail scam case. (INN)
