The CBI Special Court, on Wednesday, adjourned to 2 January the hearing on the CBI's petition seeking cancellation of bail to senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi.
The CBI counsel told the court that Srilakshmi was not cooperating with the investigation agency, and that she had also submitted fake certificates about her health to escape the investigation procedure.
He also charged Srilakshmi with trying to mount pressure on officials in the department to tamper with the evidence.
Dismissing all the charges, Srilakshmi's counsel said that the CBI has no evidence to prove that her client has acted in favour of Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) in allotting lease permits.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court adjourned the hearing on the case to 2 January 2012.
The court also adjourned to 30 December the hearing on bail petitions of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and former OMC Managing director B V Srinivasa Reddy, both of whom were involved in the mining scam. (INN)
