Srikrishna Committee member-secretary Vinod K Duggal rubbished allegations of being partial to Seemandhra.
Hyderabad | 10th November 2010
Srikrishna Committee member-secretary Vinod K Duggal on Wednesday rubbished the statements of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders alleging him of being partial for attending the parties hosted by Seemandhra leaders.

Talking to media persons in the national capital, Duggal said that the committee would not show any partiality while submitting its report to the government. He said that the committee would treat all areas equally.

Duggal's statement assumes importance in the wake of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader T Harish Rao finding fault with him for attending a dinner hosted by Seemandhra leaders.

Harish Rao claimed that attending such parties would raise doubts on the credibility of the committee among the people of Telangana region. He appealed to the committee members not to attend such parties.

"The Telangana leaders should not suspect my credentials. Though I had food with Seemandhra leaders, I am not doing any favour to them. I will not entertain any difference between Seemandhra and Telangana leaders," Duggal said.

Duggal recalled that he had earlier spent 6 hours with Telangana leaders and wondered if it would lead people to believe that he was favouring Telangana people.

The member-secretary stated that the committee would visit the state once more after the completion of winter session of Parliament.

The committee is considering irrigation, employment, status of Hyderabad, and other issues while submitting its report.

Duggal also denied the rumours that the commission had appointed a committee to look into the possibilities of according Union Territory status to Hyderabad.

The fact that Mr Duggal holds a press conference shows he is guilty. He may not be influenced by anybody, but it is the question of propriety. Can not be compared to the meeting others in CWG funtions or the regular SriKrishna Committee meetings.Since we know the ugly tactics of Andhra leaders sine 1955,thsee apprehensions are bound to be there.Mr Duggal should not only be impartial, but also should appear to the whole world that he is impartial.Jai Telangana
