Minister For Medical Education P Sudharshan Reddy on Thursday said emphatically that no government hospital would be privatised.
Stating that the government was determined to offer health and medical services to the villages in 2 months, the minister reiterated his decision, and assured the employees that there was no question of bringing any hospital under private administration.
The minister asked employees to avail the services of the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences instead of seeking treatment in private hospitals after inaugurating a health camp sponsored by NIMS for Secretariat employees on Thursday.
"There are senior professors and specialists working in NIMS," Reddy said, and he appealed to the staff to utilise their services. He also assured the staff that the government would try to issue health cards as requested by the employees' president Hanumanth Reddy.
Sudharshan Reddy also suggested that the online system of treatment be introduced with a 'password' for the benefit of staff.
Principal Health Secretary P V Ramesh advised the staff to go for periodical check-ups for blood pressure and diabetes.
Ramesh advised the staff not to ignore work-induced mental stress, and suggested that they kept blood pressure and diabetes under check.
