Telangana Minister for Finance T Harish Rao lashed out at Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for "spreading lies" against the Telangana government's schemes, and dared her to implement all the TRS government's schemes across the nation.
Speaking at a media conference at the Toopran Municipal Council in Medak district, Rao refuted Sitharaman's allegations that the Telangana government had changed the names of the union government's schemes and was implementing them as its own, and asked her to name a single central government scheme which was being copied and implemented by the Telangana government.
"The State government is implementing schemes like Asara pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak, Rythu Bandu and Rythu Bhima in Telangana. Is there a single rupee of the Modi government in any of these schemes?" he asked the union minister.
Rao also found fault with the Sitharaman's statement that the Telangana government was implementing the Mana Ooru Mana Badi scheme with the central funds, and said that it was a blatant lie.
He also denied Sitharaman's allegations that the TRS government was not implementing the union government's Fasal Bhima Yojana scheme in Telangana for farmers, and asked her why the same scheme was not being implemented in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home State.
