New District To Be Named After Jayashankar: KTR
IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao said one of the new districts formed when the Warangal district was divided would be named after the Telangana ideologue.
Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao today said that one of the new districts formed when the Warangal district was divided soon would be named after Telangana ideologue Prof. Jayashankar.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had already taken a decision in this regard, KTR said.
Paying rich tributes to Jayashankar on his death anniversary at TRS Bhavan, the minister asserted that the TRS government has already named the Agriculture University after him.
The minister said that Jayashankar had strived hard for spreading the Telangana movement, and taught people much on the need for statehood.
KTR also expressed disappointment that Jayashankar had passed away before the statehood was achieved. "Every time we are in a celebratory mood, we remember Jayashankar for his persistent efforts for the State," he remarked.
