The banned CPI (Maoist) today called for a Telangana bandh in protest against the imprisonment of Varavara Rao and the operations of the Greyhounds police.
The banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) today gave a call for a Telangana bandh on July 25 in protest against the incarceration of Revolutionary Writers' Association leader Varavara Rao and the ongoing combing operations of the Greyhounds police in the forests of the state.
The spokesperson of the party Jagan in a statement demanded that the union government immediately release Rao and 12 others who had been arrested by the police as "urban naxals".
He called upon the people of the state to expose the conspiracies of "Hindu fascist leaders" like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and CM KCR who he claimed had joined hands with the two "facist" leaders.
He also demanded that the state government release all political prisoners and all those who had crossed the age of 60 from the jails of the state, and withdraw the Greyhounds forces from the forests of the state.
He urged the people of the state to observe a complete bandh on the 25th and make it a grand success.
