Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today accused former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of misgoverning Telangana for a decade and hindering its progress.
Speaking at a public meeting in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district, as part of the Praja Palana - Praja Vijayotsavalu celebrations, Reddy praised the current Congress government's "achievements" in just ten months, and said that they were far more than what the BRS government did in ten years.
"The main opposition party, despite its defeat, continues with its arrogance. The BRS drew a blank in the Lok Sabha elections. Their continued pretense despite that shows that they have lost their senses. What did the BRS accomplish in a decade? Now they question us after our being in office for just ten months," he said.
Reddy accused KCR of spending Rs 1.23 lakh crore on the Kaleshwaram project without completing it or providing water to the people. Alleging misuse of resources across projects, he said, "BRS leader Harish Rao built a farmhouse on lands acquired for the Ranganayak Sagar project, and the Kondapochamma Sagar project was designed to supply water to KCR's farmhouse. We will reveal more such instances soon."
The Chief Minister said that land acquisition for various projects was imperative for development, and that he was committed to offering fair compensation for those who lost their lands. He criticized the opposition for obstructing efforts to establish industries and create jobs in the Kodangal Assembly constituency. "Certain forces have even created rowdy gangs to attack officials and disrupt land acquisition," he claimed.
Reddy also made sharp comments about BRS working president K T Rama Rao, alleging that he could face imprisonment for his alleged conspiracies, "even if he escapes to Delhi or the moon".
The CM also announced plans to establish a Gulf Board for the welfare of Gulf workers, which would include accident insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh for those who lost their lives in accidents.
