Hindupur MLA and popular Telugu film actor Nandamuri Balakrishna today denied making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, despite being caught on camera doing so.
"I only conveyed the peoples' anger and concern over special status for Andhra Pradesh," he said.
Balakrishna was speaking to the media at the 100-days function of his film
Jai Simha at the Ramakrishna theatre at Chilakaluripeta in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
For the uninitiated, Balakrishna had made some pretty pungent remarks against Modi during the Dharma Porata Deeksha taken up by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on April 20 in Vijayawada.
"Traitor, namak haraam, come out & face the people, they'll beat you up & make you run. No matter where you go & hide, even if you hide in a bunker, Bharat Mata will bury you. Rebellion has begun & we'll not stay quiet," the actor had said.
