Following the transformation of Yadadri and Bhongir into paper-cash free economies, Nalgonda is the newest town in Telangana to go "cashless".
Under a digital drive (TITA), 3,500 merchants in Nalgonda switched over to digital transactions on Saturday alone.
A total of 15 groups were formed with 120 TITA Digital volunteers, representatives from e-Wallet companies, banks, and a couple of State government employees. Each of the group was assigned with the task of educating merchants within the town on the usage of different e-wallets, POS, and Aadhaar," TITA President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said.
