The IT Minister K T Rama Rao said that in order to facilitate cashless transactions, the Telangana State government on pilot basis would launch a first-of-its-kind "T-Wallet" to enable people to make transactions of all sorts in a hassle-free manner at all government departments.
After holding a review meeting with officials and T-Wallet service providers at the Secretariat, the IT minister said that the T-Wallet has been made foolproof for secure transactions. One can get a T-Wallet by registering their Aadhaar and mobile numbers.
The e-Wallet is made available in Telugu as well, providing ease of accessibility, and can be used on four platforms including smartphones, feature phones, computers and call centers. T-Wallet payments may also be done at ration shops, scholarships, e-Seva and others.
KTR said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would unveil a logo of the T-Wallet next week.
