Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence that the budget for 2014-15 presented by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Wednesday would put the State's economy back on track.
Speaking to media persons, Naidu said that the financial damage caused to the State due to the bifurcation had been broadly explained in the budget speech.
He requested the Centre to compensate the residual State for the deficit due to the division.
He alleged that irregularities and mismanagement, compounded by the bifurcation, had deteriorated the financial status of Andhra Pradesh, which otherwise was a revenue surplus State.
Naidu said efforts would be made to bring the State's economy onto the path of recovery in the next two months. (INN)
