Various organizations claiming to represent the Muslim community in Telangana joined forces today to form the Muslims Minority Front to fight for achieving a separate state on Sunday.
Talking to media persons after a meeting of the various constituents, the newly formed Muslims Minority Front ad hoc committee convener Shahbaz Ali Khan said that Muslims in Telangana region were educationally and economically backward.
He said that they had been neglected by all the political parties including the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), and had been used as a political tool. Shahbaz Ali Khan said that the Muslim Minority Front would fight for a separate state as well as fight for the rights of the Muslim community after the state was achieved.
The MMF convener added that the front members would take out a rally across the Telangana region which would unite the Muslims and create awareness among them about the benefits of a separate state.
Shahbaz Ali Khan further added that the MMF would extend all help and support to any party which supported the cause of Muslim upliftment and development.
He pointed out that all the political parties had used Muslims as their vote bank, but not had not introduced any scheme for the welfare of the community or had offered them any important party post.
