Municipal elections as per the 2011 census are scheduled to be held at the end of August.

State Electoral Officer Ramakanth Reddy said that the election would be held in August, and that the process of conducting the elections will hopefully not be a problem. He also said that the elections would help in obtaining funds from the Centre.

When asked about the issue of reservation, he said that a decision on the matter would be reached by this month itself.

"We will go for the local body elections only after the reservation issue has been solved," he said. (INN)
