MOURI Tech Global Enterprises, a US-based business solutions and technology services provider, has announced that it will be investing Rs 500 crore in the two Telugu-speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as part of its efforts to expand its business in India.
The announcement was made by the company's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Srini Sandaka.
Sandaka said that the firm's decision to expand would generate employment for many IT professionals in the two states.
"The expansion will create jobs for as many as 500 IT professionals in Andhra Pradesh immediately. We will also be hiring 2,000 more people within the next 18 months. The recruitments will be done through campus selections and job melas," he said.
MOURI Tech is currently operating across eight countries with 14 offices, including three offices in India. It previously invested in the country to set up offices in Hyderabad, Vizag and Bangalore. The three offices currently have a total of 3,000 employees, but the firm's management has stated that this number is likely to increase to 10,000 in the next three years.
In recent years, Telangana has attracted large investments from various MNCs and conglomerates including Amazon and Welspun. Mobile phone manufacturing giant Oppo recently announced that it would be
launching its 5G Innovation Lab in the city soon.
