Motkupalli Begins Protest For Sub-Quota For Madigas
Telangana TDP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu started a silent protest for the categorization of the SC reservation list to have a sub-quota for the Madigas.
In an effort to secure sub-classifications in the reservations for Scheduled Castes, Telangana TDP politburo member Motkupalli Narasimhulu began a "Mouna Diksha" in Hyderabad.
Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was suppressing the agitation on the SC classification issue, he said that the protest, which kicked off near the Ambedkar statue at the Tank Bund, would continue till the Madiga community got justice.
Additionally, he demanded that the Chief Minister keep his promise on re-classifying the Scheduled Caste list and lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi in support of the same.
He also pushed for the immediate release of MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga who had been arrested earlier this week in connection with the SC classification agitation.
Sensing turbulence, however, the police took Motkupalli and his supporters into preventive custody and escorted them to the Ramgopalpet police station.
Earlier, Motkupalli had visited the Magistrate Court in Secunderabad to meet Manda Krishna Madiga but had been denied permission to meet the MRPS leader.
In a show of strength, TTDP leaders Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and others extended their support to Motkupalli.
