Trainer Ashok, who has been on a hunger strike for 10 days demanding jobs for the unemployed, has received support from BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy and former MLA Ravindra Nayak, who today visited him and consulted doctors about his health.
The City Central Library's Unemployed Association also extended full support to Ashok, staging a dharna at the Osmania General Hospital on Monday. The protest led to a clash between the unemployed protestors and the police. The protestors expressed concern for Ashok's critical health condition, and criticised the government for ignoring the issue despite his prolonged strike.
They demanded immediate talks with Ashok and the issuance of job notifications, and said that the government would be held responsible for any harm to his life and that the consequences would be severe.
