And by December 2017, another 20,366 villages would be covered under the water plexus of the riparian State, the Chief Minister said.
The CM held a meeting at Pragathi Bhavan to review the segment-wise progress of the project and instructed officials to coordinate with all departments concerned and ensure all the works under Mission Bhagiratha were completed on schedule.
"There are plenty of funds for the project. Financial institutions have already pledged Rs. 30,000 crores," Rao recalled, and urged the Collectors and other other concerned officials to expedite the ground-level works. He also directed them to obtain clearances from the National Highways Authority, State highways, panchayat raj roads, railway crossings, canal crossings, rivers and rivulets crossings, and the forest department.
Emphasizing on the need to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the program, he urged the officials to expedite works on power substations and lines. "Power shall be supplied to intake wells and Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) to ensure supply of drinking water," KCR said.

By April, all intake wells would be able to pump the required amount of water, they informed. The administrators also informed the CM that works on three of the 50 WTPs had been completed, and that 75% works had been completed in another 10.
