The Ahmedabad to Chennai Navajeevan Express miraculously escaped a big fire accident today.
Thick smoke started emanating from the train as it was proceeding towards Chennai from Ahmedabad. The alert loco pilot immediately stopped the train at the Mahabubabad railway station.
The railway officials who immediately inspected the train said that the smoke came from the failure of the brake liners of the train.
The frightened passengers, who had run helter skelter, then heaved a sigh of relief.
The incident resulted in train traffic remaining affected for some time.
