Article| Former minister Dr. P Shankar Rao, on Saturday, said that ministers play a significant role in the issuing of Government Orders (GOs), and that they ought to be held responsible for them.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, he said that bureaucrats cannot be held responsible for the issue of GOs.

Responding to the Supreme Court's serving of notices to 6 ministers over the issue of controversial GOs, he said that the role of bureaucrats in the matter would be minor, since they usually follow ministers' directions and act as per rules and regulations.

He said that the law would take its own course in this issue, and take action against corrupt ministers.

Responding to the demand of opposition parties for the dismissal of ministers from the Cabinet, he said that Congress High Command and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would take a decision on them at an appropriate time.

He reiterated that he would intensify his campaign against corruption, from April. (INN)
