As MIM leaders lobby hard in New Delhi against the formation of the Telangana State, BJP accuses them of picking power over the growth and the welfare of the Muslim community.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday accused the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen of obstructing the development of the Muslim community in the Telangana region.
Talking to the reporters at the Assembly premises, the BJP State President G Kishan Reddy alleged that the MIM leaders have been lobbying hard in New Delhi against the formation of the Telangana State. He opined that the Muslim community would grow manifold in both employment and education after the formation of Telangana. However, the MIM leaders - insecure about their ability to control a developed Muslim community - have been stalling the grant of a statehood for the region, alleged Kishan Reddy.
The BJP leader also slammed the Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for delaying the letter supporting the formation of the Telangana State. However, he said that no party, including the TDP and the MIM, could prevent the formation of the Telangana State, and that it would soon be a reality.
He further accused Naidu of violating Assembly Rules while declaring his assets. He proclaimed all the members of the Assembly have to declare their assets after the Speaker issues a circular. Stating that he has been declaring his assets for the last eight years, he said criticized Naidu for violating the rules by declaring his assets at an inappropriate time. (INN)
