"Telangana Congress MPs Committed"

Nizamabad MP Madhu Goud stated that the Telangana-elected Congress MPs are committed to the Telangana struggle, and extended support to the Millenium March.
Hyderabad | 7th March 2011
Emphasizing that Congress MPs from Telangana are committed to the introduction of separate statehood bill in the Parliament, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud on Sunday stated that his party colleagues in the Lok Sabha will not drag their feet on the issue.

Talking to mediapersons at his Banjara Hills residence, Yaskhi Goud said that the MPs will intensify their struggle for the introduction of a Telangana bill in the Parliament, by stalling proceedings in the House until the Centre gives in to their demand.

"The MPs will ensure that the Centre expedites the process for Telangana state formation," he stated.

Reacting to the rumour that the Centre has lobbied with Telangana MPs in the wake of the elections to Assemblies in 5 states to postpone the issue to May, Yaskhi Goud said that this was not correct. He added that if the Centre resorts to delay tactics, the MPs will intensify their agitation and resign from their posts.

He, however, accused that a section of MPs, mostly from the Seemandhra region, was obstructing the Telangana struggle.

The Nizamabad MP also opined that the government will have to make alternate arrangements for the conduct of Intermediate and CBSE exams, in the wake of the Millennium March called by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) on March 10th.

He called upon all pro-Telangana activists to widely participate in the Millennium March and make it a grand success.
