Congress Workers Clash At Dubbak Meet
Supporters of Congress MLC Farooq Hussain and Ch Muthyam Reddy clashed during the public meeting at Dubbak in Telangana during the Party's Medak campaign.
The differences between the Telangana Congress leaders came to the fore during the launch of the Party's election campaign for the Medak by-elections on Monday.
The supporters of Congress MLC Farooq Hussain and Ch Muthyam Reddy clashed during the public meeting at Dubbak.
It all began when Farooq Hussain objected to the non-inclusion of pictures of minority leaders in any of the posters or banners at the meeting venue.
Senior leaders including TPCC Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, K Jana Reddy, D Srinivas and Medak candidate Sunitha Lakshma Reddy were present on the dais when the trouble began.
While Farooq Hussain was registering his protest, his supporters came and started shouting slogans against Muthyam Reddy for the absence of his photo in the posters and banners.
Meanwhile, Jana Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir tried to pacify the agitating workers, and even threatened disciplinary action if they continued to disrupt the meeting.
The supporters of Farooq Hussain and Muthyam Reddy yet exchanged allegations and abuses, and almost came to blows.
Finally, Ponnala announced that from now on Congress posters and banners would have the pictures of only Congress candidate Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and Party President Sonia Gandhi.
The public meeting got delayed by an hour due to these disruptions. (INN)
