Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday questioned RSS executive member Indresh Kumar in connection with the Mecca Masjid and Ajmer blasts.
According to sources, Indresh Kumar pleaded his innocence and accused the Congress party of trying to frame him.
Claiming that he was a devout Indian citizen, Indresh Kumar said that the questioning was part of a 'political conspiracy of the Congress party'.
The RSS member also expressed bewilderment at being questioned by saying that he was even unaware of the reason behind his interrogation. He added that he had appeared before the CBI sleuths since he was a law-abiding citizen.
Affirming his faith in the Judiciary, Indresh Kumar also called on his well-wishers to protest against his questioning and the 'political conspiracy'. He added that the protests should be peaceful.
Indresh Kumar was named in the charge-sheet filed by the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on October 22nd. The charge-sheet also said that several other RSS leaders had attended a meeting in which the blasts were planned.
