A massive fire that broke out in a electronics godown in Musheerabad refuses to be brought under control nearly half a day after the battle against it began.
A godown belonging to Sri Gajanand Enterprises - which was used to store electronic goods like ACs, TVs, refrigerators, and many more easily-inflammable, and valuable, products - suddenly burst into flames a little after last midnight. The magnitude of the fire brought five fire engines rushing to the site.
However, a complete disregard of fire safety rules in the construction of the building made it particularly difficult to bring the fire under control. All the floors were also packed to the rafters with electronic SMCGs, which did not allow the water jets to enter the building, which is now on the verge of collapse due to the damage caused by the fire.
GHMC has ordered that the buliding be carefully demolished before it collapses, so that it doesn't harm the surrounding houses in the heavily populated area.
No casualties have been found so far, but heavy losses of property has been reported.
