Don't Ignore Jagan: Gone

Former APSRTC Chairman Gone Prakash Rao lashed out at S Jaipal Reddy for his allegations against Jaganmohan Reddy.
Hyderabad | 28th November 2010
Former APSRTC Chairman Gone Prakash Rao on Sunday took umbrage at Union Minister For Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy's 'allegations' against Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, and cautioned the Congress High Command against marginalising the young leader.

Speaking to media persons outside the Kadapa MP's residence in the morning, Prakash Rao, a staunch loyalist of the YSR family, stated that any move to marginalise the young MP would result in the party being weakened in the state.

Charging that Union Minister For Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy's 'allegations' against Jaganmohan Reddy were baseless, the former RTC chairman demanded that he resigned from his post, and worked for the creation of a separate Telangana state.

The senior leader also pointed out that Reddy's son-in-law was associated with the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and his brother with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Thus, he had no right to criticise Jaganmohan Reddy whose family members were staunch Congress loyalists.

Rao held Jaipal Reddy responsible for the chaotic situation in the state since he had not made any effort to find a solution to the uncertainty currently prevailing in the state.

Alleging that Jaipal Reddy had backstabbed the Congress party earlier by aligning with other political parties, the former RTC chairman stated that the Union Minister had the habit of changing colours at every opportunity.

He also stated that no other leader in the Congress matched up to the Kadapa MP's charisma, and also said that he was partly instrumental in sending the maximum number of MPs to Parliament by actively campaigning for the party in the 2009 elections.

Rao also defended the 'Odarpu Yatra' saying that it was Jaganmohan Reddy's personal choice to console the families of those who died of shock or committed suicide on hearing the news of YSR's death.
