The Musheerabad Police arrested a person who was allegedly involved in the theft of nine motorcycles from different places in the city.
According to Chikkadpally ACP N Chandra Sekhar Reddy, the accused, 26-year-old Kona Srinivas alias Don Seenu, was arrested on Saturday at around 5pm during the "nakabandi" while traveling on a stolen Pulsar bike. On rigorous interrogation, he confessed to have committed a total of nine offences of bike lifting at various places of twin cities and all the bikes were recovered at his instance. The total value of the bikes is estimated around Rs 6.45 lakh.
Srinivas committed the theft of bikes in the limits of Musheerabad, Chikkadpally, Gopalapuram and Jublee Hills police stations. All the nine bikes were recovered at his instance. Out of nine bikes, five are Bajaj Pulsor, three are Yamaha FZ, Yamaha Fazer and Hero Honda passion each.
Earlier, he was arrested by LB Nagar and Saroor Nagar police four times and convicted in nine bike lifting cases. On February 8, he was released from Cherlapally Jail after undergoing imprisonment.
Police said that Srinivas was in the habit of stealing sports bikes. He roams around on stolen bikes and after some time he sells them at a throw away price pretending himself as a finance agent. Else, he used to park them at parking places of railway stations.
Out of nine bikes, the owners of two bikes - Yamaha FZ (Green colour engine No.21c1006824 and Hero Honda passion (Engine no. 04l081730099) are yet to be traced. The owners of the above bikes have been requested to approach Musheerabad police along with documents to claim their bikes.
The case has been investigated by DSI Naresh under the supervision of Crimes Inspector Mohammad Riyazuddin. The arrested accused is being produced before the court for remand. (INN)
