The Balanagar police have arrested habitual offenders involved in the theft of a generator-mounted DCM vehicle.
According to the police, on January 21, 2026, Yousuf Baba reported the theft of his generator-mounted DCM which was parked near Prahlad Saw Mill at IDPL Huts.
A swift technical investigation and eyewitness inputs led to the arrest of two accused, while two others remained absconding.
The arrested were identified as Mohammed Khadeer and Mohammed Tajuddin, both residents of Bidar district in Karnataka. The other two accused, Digya alias Dilwale and Faqruddin alias Gore, are absconding.
As part of their modus operandi, the accused conducted a recce, noticed that the vehicle keys had been left inside the cabin, and used the available diesel to start the vehicle and fled via the Mumbai Highway towards Karnataka.
The police recovered the vehicle, valued at Rs 3.5 lakh. The accused were also found to be involved in another similar theft case.
