The Anti Corruption Bureau Court, on Monday, issued a summons to Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah, in connection with the Ameerpet land allocation scam.
The principal ACB court judge, Justice Jagannatham, while rejecting the ACB's report
giving a clean chit to the former chief minister, directed Rosaiah to appear in the court on 2 August.
It has been alleged that Rosaiah, as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, gave away 9.3 acres of government land to private parties, flouting established rules and regulations.
It may be mentioned here that an advocate, Ranga Rao, had filed a case in the court, alleging that Rosaiah had given away very valuable land in Ameerpet, at throwaway prices, to a private party. The ACB court then asked the officials to file an
FIR against the former CM, in a case relating to the denotification of land in the Ameerpet area of Hyderabad.
The ACB investigated the involvement of 14 government officials against whom allegations were made. However, in its final report given to the court, the ACB appealed that the case be struck down as neither Rosaiah nor the 14 other officials were found to be involved in any irregularity. (INN)
