Speaking to the media after making the arrests, the local police officials said, "About two weeks ago, the miscreants broke into the house of a person named Indra Reddy, who had stored a large amount of gold in his house for the occasion of his daughter's wedding which was to be held on December 23. The thieves stole gold ornaments weighing nearly 200 tolas worth Rs 7 lakh. They committed the theft while the family was sleeping, so the incident came to light only the next day."
