Telugu Desam Party MLA Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy accused the state government of neglecting the development of Mahbubnagar district.
Talking to reporters at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, Chandrasekhar Reddy said that the government did not include the Mahbubnagar district in the Remote Interior Agency Development.
Referring to the inclusion of 6 districts under the Centre's Integrated Action Plan, he said that despite several representations, the state government did not recommend Mahbubnagar district for inclusion in the list.
The TDP MLA said that Mahbubnagar has the least revenues and resources, compared to other districts.
Further, the district is also lagging behind in other parameters of development, including literacy rates, health and sanitation.
Therefore, he said, Mahbabnagar deserves to be a part of the list earmarked for concentrated development under the RIAD, IAP and other Central schemes.
Chandrasekhar Reddy demanded that the state government send a fresh proposal to the Centre requesting the inclusion of Mahbubnagar in the RIAD scheme. (INN)
