The Left parties of Telangana today extended their complete support to the nationwide strike declared by the various labour organisations on March 28 & 29.
The Left parties of the state today extended their complete support to the nationwide strike declared by the various labour organisations on March 28 & 29 protesting the "anti-people policies" of the union government.
In a statement, the CPI, CPM, CPI (ML), CPI (ML) New Democracy and other parties alleged that the Narendra Modi-led union government was adopting several anti-farmer, anti-labour policies since it had come to power, and that it was selling all the public sector undertakings to foreign and Indian corporate companies.
They also said that the steep increase in the petrol and diesel prices in the country was causing a lot of problems to the people who were already hit by the impact of Covid.
The parties called upon the people of the state to take part in the protest and make it a grand success.
They also demanded that the union government give Rs. 7,500 per month to all those who were not income tax payers, as also provide 10 kgs of rice per head and other food items to them for the next six months free of cost.
They also demanded the union government fix the minimum salary as Rs. 21,000 as per the recommendations of the Indian labour conference, besides enhancing the daily wages of MGNREGS workers to Rs. 600 per day.
