Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao today urged the farmers not to fall in the trap of some political parties and land mafia elements who he claimed provoked the farmers against the land pooling process in Warangal.
With farmers intensifying their protest against the land acquisition, the State government on Monday night cancelled the land pooling process for the 41 km Warangal Outer Ring Road with immediate effect.
The KUDA had commissioned survey work covering 28 villages in the three districts of Hanamkonda, Warangal and Jangaon for the development of the ORR, which had led to a series of protests by farmers in the region.
Speaking at a press conference, Rao said that no injustice would be done to the farmers as long as K Chandrashekar Rao was the Chief Minister of the State.
"KCR himself is a farmer. He as the Chief Minister of the State has initiated many schemes for the welfare of the farmers, including Rythu Bandu and Rythu Beema. KCR will never harm another farmer. The decision of land pooling has been taken for the development of Warangal district. If farmers are having any issues, the government is ready to discuss them. Whatever decision is taken by the government will keep in mind the development of the farmers," Rao said.
The minister also alleged that some political parties and land mafia elements had joined the protests and misguided the farmers against the State government.
He appealed to the farmers not to believe the words of such elements.
Wardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh welcomed the State government's decision to withdraw the land pooling, and thanked the CM for taking the decision. He also felicitated Rao for the rescinding.
Meanwhile, farmers expressed delight over the cancellation of the land pooling, and poured milk to a portrait of KCR.
