Criticizing the move to
rename the Telugu
Lalitha Kala Thoranam after Rajiv Gandhi, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday, wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Rosaiah demanding that he immediately withdraw the Government Order 1307 effecting the change.
Raising serious objection to the government's move to rename Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Naidu said the government's move would hurt the sentiments of crores of Telugu people, and termed it 'unwise'.
Stating that the open air auditorium was the brain child of former chief minister N T Rama Rao, he questioned the need for changing the name and urged the government to reconsider its decision.
The TDP chief appealed to the government to retain the name as usual and respect the emotions and sentiments of Telugu people.
