Kurnool Commissioners Scam People Out Of Rs. 73 Crores
Successive Municipal Commissioners in Kurnool have allegedly been conducting a systematic fraud for the last 13 years, the losses due to which amount to Rs. 73 crores.
A complaint filed by a man called Koneru Nagendra Prasad has outed a scam worth Rs. 73 crores. According to the complainant, successive Municipal Commissioners in Kurnool have been conducting a systematic fraud for the last 13 years, wherein they would forge signatures on documents, and secret away money alotted for various purposes. The have also allegedly been keeping auditors away from the Municipal Office.
This scam was reportedly conducted with the aid of a Sr. Assistant named Prakash, who passed away recently in an accident. The Commissioners then allegedly tried to appropriate the scam entirely to the deceased.
After the complaint was accepted by a court for investigation, a CID team, led by DSP Fakhruddin, discovered the involvement of 10 Municipal Commissioners in the fraud. They arrested a former Commissioner named Amarayya, be the rest, including the person currently holding the post, seem to be absconding.
