Telangana Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao and Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy today engaged in a verbal dual on the development of municipalities and the funds for that.
In the process, KTR asked the MLA not to resort to heroism with a mike in the house.
It all started when, during Zero Hour in the Assembly, Reddy alleged that the government did not release funds for the development of some municipalities.
He claimed that the government did not give funds for basic facilities and infrastructure for the Chundur and Chautuppal municipalities.
The minister reacted seriously to these charges and debunked the MLA's comments as baseless.
"There is no truth in the legislator's comments as the government releases Rs 138 crore of funds regularly under the Pattana Pragati program," he claimed.
Upon this they exchanged heated words, and the minister asked the MLA to stop "doing heroism".
"We are offering the needed funds for the municipalities' development, and the works will be completed as planned," the minister said.
