Hyderabad | 7th January 2020
Telangana IT & Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today inaugurated the newly constructed technology campuses of Cyient and Tech Mahindra in Madikonda on the outskirts of Warangal.

The two IT majors will commence their operations from the Madikonda IT Park.

The Cyient campus built in five acres will provide jobs to some 600 to 700 people, and Tech Mahindra to some 100 to 150.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the government wished to develop the IT sector in the State, and would itself would take care of the infrastructure for that.

"The future lies in Tier 2 cities. The government has plans to develop Tier 2 cities like Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar and Khammam as IT hubs. This will ensure not only that the IT companies come and invest, but also that more employment is generated for the youth in the State," he said.

KTR said that he had met C P Gurnani, CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra, and B V R Mohan Reddy, Founder and Executive Chairman of Cyient, in 2018 in the World Economics Forum, and had requested them to set up their companies in Warangal where they would have all facilities they needed. Both of them agreed immediately and came forward to do that, and accordingly the two campuses had come up in Warangal.

KTR said that the State government had also established a jute park in Warangal, and was planning to set up a textiles park in Parakala and a leather park in Jangaon to create jobs for the unemployed. Besides, the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple atop Yadadri was fast becoming a spiritual centre, he said.

Ministers Etala Rajender, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
