BRS working president K T Rama Rao today filed a criminal defamation case against Endowments Minister Konda Surekha in a special court in Nampally.
KTR's lawyer Uma Maheshwar Rao filed the defamation petition against Surekha.
In his petition, KTR claimed that Surekha had made comments that hurt his reputation.
KTR named Balka Suman, Satyavathi Rathod, Tula Uma and Dasoju Sravan as witnesses.
In his petition, KTR alleged that Surekha had made baseless allegations, and that too as a State minister.
"I was a two-time MLA and served as a minister for nine years. I have brought awards and investments to the State at the international level in the country and abroad. I was awarded the best IT minister award in 2020. I have seen the comments made by Minister Konda Surekha on some channels. All the comments made against me are false allegations," KTR said.
In the petition, KTR also said that Surekha had made the comments in a way that would cause serious damage to his reputation.
Along with the petition, KTR's counsel submitted videos, audios and screenshots of minister Surekha's speech to the court, and sought legal action against Surekha under Section 356 of the BNS Act.
KTR's lawyer submitted 23 pieces of evidence to the court.
